The first time I worked with this awesome family was a maternity session – when she was pregnant with this handsome little guy. And I was so excited to meet their baby boy when they scheduled a cake smash session for his first birthday!
His parents chose a “One-der the Sea” theme and brought the perfect prop for the set – an amazing diving helmet!
We started off his cake smash session with some milestone portraits, and Mr. P was all smiles. ♥ He definitely had a lot of fun celebrating turning one – and I had a lot of fun photographing him!
His mom brought the cutest little scuba suit and accessories for a few more portraits. Baby boy was a fan of the snorkel!
Then she put him in his official cake smash outfit – a shorts and tie set with sharks and fish! So cute!
I tell my clients that the cake is an important factor when it comes to their cake smash session. It can add to or take away from the set and overall pictures. Well, this mama understood the assignment and made THE perfect cake for her baby boy’s first birthday session. I also love that her sister made the ocean-themed cookies to add to it. Such a special touch! ♥
Baby boy was a fan of all of it. The cookies, the cake, the sprinkles on top … he had a blast digging in! And I enjoyed photographing his variety of expressions as he did. Ha!
After a good amount of cake time … he was done!
And it was time for the splash after the smash! My little bathtub is almost always a hit. A lot of babies even like it even more than the cake!
